Cereal Series

Here are some silly stream of consciousness poems from a prompt asking for three lines about cereal. Do you feel hungry now?

1.

Some mornings when I wake up

Feeling the most out of sorts

A single simple bowl of bran will set my mind at ease.

2.

“Cheerio,” say my Cheerios

Much too cheerfully considering

Their impending digestion.

3.

Why settle for the

Corn flakes of a bland life?

Throw some berries on top.

4.

Early on I wondered,

How the leftover milk must feel,

Purposeless in the cereal bowl.

So I always, always drink it up;

It is for compassion.
